At the time of the 2010 Census, Eugene had a population of 156,185 people (or 44.41% of the total population of Lane County). This makes Eugene the county's most populous community.

The population of Eugene represents 4.08% of the total population of Oregon (which has 3,831,074 people), making it the state's 2nd most populous community.
