The community of Moro is the Seat for Sherman County.

Sherman County was founded in 1889 and was created by taking area from Wasco County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Sherman had a population of 1,790 people. This is an increase of 1.42% since the last Census (which gave a population of 1,765 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Sherman represented 0.05% of the total population of Oregon.
