At the time of the 2010 Census, Woodward had a population of 12,051 people (or 60.01% of the total population of Woodward County). This makes Woodward the county's most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 12,051 people, the population of Woodward increased 1.67% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 11,853 people).

We originally found mention of Woodward in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Woodward was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Woodward post office opened in 1893.

We also found Woodward on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Oklahoma (1911).
