At the time of the 2010 Census, Duncan had a population of 23,431 people (or 52.01% of the total population of Stephens County). This makes Duncan the county's most populous community.

The population of Duncan represents 0.62% of the total population of Oklahoma (which has 3,751,351 people), making it the state's 17th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 23,431 people, the population of Duncan increased 4.11% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 22,505 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Duncan was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Duncan post office opened in 1884.
