Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Sherwood had an population of 806 people. This is a decrease of 2.54% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 0.62% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Sherwood had a population of 827 people. This makes Sherwood the county's 3rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 827 people, the population of Sherwood increased 3.25% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 801 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Sherwood was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Sherwood post office opened in 1874.

We also found Sherwood in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
