At the time of the 2010 Census, Prospect had a population of 1,112 people. This makes Prospect the county's 2nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,112 people, the population of Prospect decreased 6.63% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,191 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Prospect was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Prospect post office opened in 1837.

We also found Prospect in the book titled Table of U.S. Post Offices in the United States (Jan. 1851).
