Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Marengo had an population of 341 people. This is a decrease of 0.29% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 14.81% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Marengo had a population of 342 people. This makes Marengo the county's 4th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 342 people, the population of Marengo increased 15.15% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 297 people).

We originally found mention of Marengo in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Marengo was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Marengo post office opened in 1848.

We also found Marengo in the book titled Table of U.S. Post Offices in the United States (Jan. 1851).
