Fulton County was founded April 1, 1850. Fulton was created by taking area from Lucas, Henry and Williams Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Fulton had a population of 42,175 people. This is a decrease of 1.22% since the last Census (which gave a population of 42,698 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Fulton represented 0.37% of the total population of Ohio.
