Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Catawba had an population of 273 people. This is an increase of 0.37% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 12.5% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Catawba had a population of 272 people. This makes Catawba the county's 9th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 272 people, the population of Catawba decreased 12.82% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 312 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Catawba was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Catawba post office opened in 1839.

We also found Catawba in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
