At the time of the 2010 Census, Alliance had a population of 22,322 people (or 5.94% of the total population of Stark County). This makes Alliance the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Alliance represents 0.19% of the total population of Ohio (which has 11,536,504 people), making it the state's 69th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 22,322 people, the population of Alliance decreased 4% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 23,253 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Alliance was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<9>

From that list, the Alliance post office opened in 1851.
