At the time of the 2000 Census, the Town of Salina had a population of 33,290 people. This represented 0.18% of the total population of New York, making it the state's 56th most populous community.

From the Census estimates^<1> for 2007, Salina had a population of 32,713 people. This is a decrease of 1.73% since the 2000 Census.
