Saint Lawrence County was founded in 1802. Saint Lawrence was created by taking area from Clinton, Herkimer and Montgomery Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Saint Lawrence had a population of 107,766 people. This is a decrease of 3.73% since the last Census (which gave a population of 111,944 people in 2010).
