At the time of the 2010 Census, Catskill had a population of 4,081 people (or 8.29% of the total population of Greene County). This makes Catskill the county's 5th most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Catskill was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Catskill post office opened in 1800.
