Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Attica had an population of 2,404 people. This is a decrease of 5.61% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 7.43% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Attica had a population of 2,547 people (which is 6.04% of the total population of Wyoming County). This makes Attica the county's 9th most populous community.

The population of Attica represents 0.01% of the population of New York (which has 19,378,102 people), making it the state's 780th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 2,547 people, the population of Attica decreased 1.93% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 2,597 people).

We originally found mention of Attica in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Attica was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Attica post office opened in 1814.

We also found Attica in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
