While we don't have a date for the founding of Springer, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was in a book dated 1895.

From the  Census Estimates for 2019, Springer has a population of 920 people<3> (see below for details).

The community of Springer is 5,850 feet [1,783 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Springer is about 1¼ mile [or ~1¾ km] above sea level.

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Springer had an population of 920 people. This is a decrease of 12.13% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 28.4% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Springer had a population of 1,047 people (or 7.61% of the total population of Colfax County). This makes Springer the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Springer represents 0.05% of the population of New Mexico (which has 2,059,179 people), making it the state's 62nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,047 people, the population of Springer decreased 18.52% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,285 people).
