While we don't have a date for the founding of Santa Rosa, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was in a book dated 1895.

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Santa Rosa had an population of 2,626 people. This is a decrease of 7.79% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 4.3% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Santa Rosa had a population of 2,848 people (or 60.76% of the total population of Guadalupe County). This makes Santa Rosa the county's most populous community.

The population of Santa Rosa represents 0.14% of the population of New Mexico (which has 2,059,179 people), making it the state's 40th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 2,848 people, the population of Santa Rosa increased 3.79% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 2,744 people).
