Time Zone: Mora County lies in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time.

The community of Mora is the Seat for Mora County.

Mora County was founded in 1859 and was created by taking area from Taos County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Mora had a population of 4,490 people. This is a decrease of 8.01% since the last Census (which gave a population of 4,881 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Mora represented 0.24% of the total population of New Mexico.
