Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Clovis had an population of 38,426 people. This is an increase of 1.72% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 17.63% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Clovis had a population of 37,775 people (or 78.09% of the total population of Curry County). This makes Clovis the county's most populous community.

The population of Clovis represents 1.83% of the total population of New Mexico (which has 2,059,179 people), making it the state's 7th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 37,775 people, the population of Clovis increased 15.64% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 32,667 people).

We originally found mention of Clovis in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Clovis was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Clovis post office opened in 1907.

We also found Clovis on a map titled Rand McNally Map of New Mexico (1920).
