Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, West Point had an population of 3,262 people. This is a decrease of 3.03% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 10.87% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, West Point had a population of 3,364 people (or 36.81% of the total population of Cuming County). This makes West Point the county's most populous community.

The population of West Point represents 0.18% of the population of Nebraska (which has 1,826,341 people), making it the state's 43rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 3,364 people, the population of West Point decreased 8.09% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 3,660 people).
