Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Springfield had an population of 1,623 people. This is an increase of 6.15% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 11.93% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Springfield had a population of 1,529 people. This makes Springfield the county's 5th most populous community.

The population of Springfield represents 0.08% of the total population of Nebraska (which has 1,826,341 people), making it the state's 75th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,529 people, the population of Springfield increased 5.45% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,450 people).
