At the time of the 2010 Census, Scottsbluff had a population of 15,039 people (or 40.68% of the total population of Scotts Bluff County). This makes Scottsbluff the county's most populous community.

The population of Scottsbluff represents 0.82% of the total population of Nebraska (which has 1,826,341 people), making it the state's 13th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 15,039 people, the population of Scottsbluff increased 2.08% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 14,732 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Scottsbluff was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Scottsbluff post office opened in 1900.
