While we don't have a date for the founding of Plainview, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was on a map dated 1895.

From the  Census Estimates for 2019, Plainview has a population of 1,191 people<3> (see below for details).

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Plainview had an population of 1,191 people. This is a decrease of 4.41% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 11.97% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Plainview had a population of 1,246 people (which is 17.15% of the total population of Pierce County). This makes Plainview the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Plainview represents 0.07% of the population of Nebraska (which has 1,826,341 people), making it the state's 84th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,246 people, the population of Plainview decreased 7.91% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,353 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Plainview was on a map titled Map of Nebraska (from Rand McNally, 1895).
