Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Papillion had an population of 20,444 people. This is an increase of 8.2% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 24.94% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Papillion had a population of 18,894 people (which is 11.89% of the total population of Sarpy County). This makes Papillion the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Papillion represents 1.03% of the population of Nebraska (which has 1,826,341 people), making it the state's 11th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 18,894 people, the population of Papillion increased 15.47% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 16,363 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Papillion was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Papillion post office opened in 1867.

We also found Papillion in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
