At the time of the 2010 Census, Palmyra had a population of 545 people. This makes Palmyra the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Palmyra represents 0.03% of the population of Nebraska (which has 1,826,341 people), making it the state's 191st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 545 people, the population of Palmyra has remained roughly the same as the 2000 Census (which had a count of 546 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Palmyra was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Palmyra post office opened in 1862.

We also found Palmyra in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
