At the time of the 2010 Census, Oshkosh had a population of 884 people (which is 42.98% of the total population of Garden County). This makes Oshkosh the county's most populous community.

The population of Oshkosh represents 0.05% of the total population of Nebraska (which has 1,826,341 people), making it the state's 128th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 884 people, the population of Oshkosh has remained roughly the same as the 2000 Census (which had a count of 887 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Oshkosh was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Oshkosh post office opened in 1889.
