While we don't have a date for the founding of Indianola, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was on a map dated 1895.

At the time of the 2010 Census, Indianola had a population of 584 people (or 5.28% of the total population of Red Willow County). This makes Indianola the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Indianola represents 0.03% of the total population of Nebraska (which has 1,826,341 people), making it the state's 179th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 584 people, the population of Indianola decreased 9.03% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 642 people).
