While we don't have a date for the founding of Eagle, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1869.

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Eagle had an population of 1,095 people. This is an increase of 6.93% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 0.9% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Eagle had a population of 1,024 people. This makes Eagle the county's 4th most populous community.

The population of Eagle represents 0.06% of the total population of Nebraska (which has 1,826,341 people), making it the state's 107th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,024 people, the population of Eagle decreased 7.33% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,105 people).

We originally found mention of Eagle in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Eagle was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Eagle post office opened in 1869.

We also found Eagle in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
