Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Cambridge had an population of 1,005 people. This is a decrease of 5.46% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 3.46% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Cambridge had a population of 1,063 people (which is 21.44% of the total population of Furnas County). This makes Cambridge the county's most populous community.

The population of Cambridge represents 0.06% of the population of Nebraska (which has 1,826,341 people), making it the state's 100th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,063 people, the population of Cambridge increased 2.11% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,041 people).

We originally found mention of Cambridge in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Cambridge was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Cambridge post office opened in 1880.

We also found Cambridge on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Nebraska (1895).
