At the time of the 2010 Census, Bellevue had a population of 50,137 people (or 31.56% of the total population of Sarpy County). This makes Bellevue the county's most populous community.

The population of Bellevue represents 2.75% of the total population of Nebraska (which has 1,826,341 people), making it the state's 3rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 50,137 people, the population of Bellevue increased 12.97% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 44,382 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Bellevue was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Bellevue post office opened in 1855.
