The population of Adams represents 0.03% of the population of Nebraska (which has 1,826,341 people), making it the state's 182nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 573 people, the population of Adams increased 17.18% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 489 people).

We originally found mention of Adams in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Adams was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Adams post office opened in 1872.

We also found Adams on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Nebraska (1895).
