At the time of the 2010 Census, Minto had a population of 604 people (or 5.43% of the total population of Walsh County). This makes Minto the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Minto represents 0.09% of the population of North Dakota (which has 672,591 people), making it the state's 104th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 604 people, the population of Minto decreased 8.07% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 657 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Minto was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Minto post office opened in 1880.

We also found Minto in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
