Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Lisbon had an population of 2,046 people. This is a decrease of 5.01% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 10.73% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Lisbon had a population of 2,154 people (or 39.47% of the total population of Ransom County). This makes Lisbon the county's most populous community.

The population of Lisbon represents 0.32% of the population of North Dakota (which has 672,591 people), making it the state's 29th most populous community.

We originally found mention of Lisbon in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Lisbon was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Lisbon post office opened in 1880.

We also found Lisbon in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
