Time Zone: Lignite lies in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Population Details ...

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Lignite had an population of 223 people. This is an increase of 43.87% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 28.16% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Lignite had a population of 155 people (which is 7.88% of the total population of Burke County). This makes Lignite the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Lignite represents 0.02% of the population of North Dakota (which has 672,591 people), making it the state's 232nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 155 people, the population of Lignite decreased 10.92% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 174 people).
