Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Kindred had an population of 782 people. This is an increase of 13.01% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 27.36% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Kindred had a population of 692 people. This makes Kindred the county's 7th most populous community.

The population of Kindred represents 0.1% of the total population of North Dakota (which has 672,591 people), making it the state's 97th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 692 people, the population of Kindred increased 12.7% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 614 people).

We originally found mention of Kindred in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Kindred was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Kindred post office opened in 1881.

We also found Kindred in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
