At the time of the 2010 Census, Jamestown had a population of 15,427 people (which is 73.11% of the total population of Stutsman County). This makes Jamestown the county's most populous community.

The population of Jamestown represents 2.29% of the total population of North Dakota (which has 672,591 people), making it the state's 8th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 15,427 people, the population of Jamestown has remained roughly the same as the 2000 Census (which had a count of 15,527 people).
