Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Devils Lake had an population of 7,298 people. This is an increase of 2.2% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 1.05% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Devils Lake had a population of 7,141 people (which is 62.36% of the total population of Ramsey County). This makes Devils Lake the county's most populous community.

The population of Devils Lake represents 1.06% of the population of North Dakota (which has 672,591 people), making it the state's 11th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 7,141 people, the population of Devils Lake decreased 1.12% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 7,222 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Devils Lake was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Devils Lake post office opened in 1884.

We also found Devils Lake in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
