Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Bowman had an population of 1,604 people. This is a decrease of 2.79% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 0.25% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Bowman had a population of 1,650 people (which is 52.36% of the total population of Bowman County). This makes Bowman the county's most populous community.

The population of Bowman represents 0.25% of the population of North Dakota (which has 672,591 people), making it the state's 37th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,650 people, the population of Bowman increased 3.13% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,600 people).

We originally found mention of Bowman in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Bowman was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Bowman post office opened in 1907.

We also found Bowman on a map titled Rand McNally Map of North Dakota (1937).
