While we don't have a date for the founding of Wallace, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was in a book dated 1895.

From the  Census Estimates for 2019, Wallace has a population of 3,868 people<3> (see below for details).

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Wallace had an population of 3,868 people. This is a decrease of 0.31% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 15.67% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Wallace had a population of 3,880 people (which is 6.63% of the total population of Duplin County). This makes Wallace the county's most populous community.

The population of Wallace represents 0.04% of the population of North Carolina (which has 9,535,483 people), making it the state's 162nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 3,880 people, the population of Wallace increased 16.03% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 3,344 people).
