The population of Raleigh represents 4.24% of the population of North Carolina (which has 9,535,483 people), making it the state's 2nd most populous community. With a 2010 count of 403,892 people, the population of Raleigh increased 46.29% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 276,093 people).
