From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Kure Beach was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Kure Beach post office opened in 1942.

We also found Kure Beach on a map titled Shell Oil Road Map for North Carolina (1956).
