At the time of the 2010 Census, High Point had a population of 104,371 people (which is 21.37% of the total population of Guilford County). This makes High Point the county's most populous community.

The population of High Point represents 1.09% of the population of North Carolina (which has 9,535,483 people), making it the state's 9th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 104,371 people, the population of High Point increased 21.59% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 85,839 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for High Point was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the High Point post office opened in 1854.
