The city of High Point is primarily located in Davidson County. A portion of High Point extends into Forsyth County, Guilford County and Randolph County.

The county had a population of 147,657 people at the 2000 Census. With it's population of 85,839 people, High Point contained 58.1% of the Davidson County total.
