Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Apex had an population of 59,485 people. This is an increase of 58.73% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 194.31% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Apex had a population of 37,476 people. This makes Apex the county's most populous community.

The population of Apex represents 0.39% of the total population of North Carolina (which has 9,535,483 people), making it the state's 22nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 37,476 people, the population of Apex increased 85.41% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 20,212 people).

We originally found mention of Apex in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Apex was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Apex post office opened in 1871.

We also found Apex in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
