The city of Dillon is located in Beaverhead County<1> and is the County Seat for Beaverhead County.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Dillon, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was in a book dated 1895.

From the  Census Estimates for 2019, Dillon has a population of 4,314 people<3> (see below for details).

Dillon is 5,090 feet [1,551 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Dillon is about 1 mile [or ~1½ km] above sea level.

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Dillon had an population of 4,314 people. This is an increase of 4.35% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 14.98% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Dillon had a population of 4,134 people (or 44.71% of the total population of Beaverhead County). This makes Dillon the county's most populous community.

The population of Dillon represents 0.42% of the total population of Montana (which has 989,415 people), making it the state's 21st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 4,134 people, the population of Dillon increased 10.18% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 3,752 people).
