Teton County was founded in 1893 and was created by taking area from Chouteau County. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Teton had a population of 6,150 people. This is an increase of 1.27% since the last Census (which gave a population of 6,073 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Teton represented 0.61% of the total population of Montana.
