Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Sallis had an population of 129 people. This is a decrease of 3.73% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 13.16% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Sallis had a population of 134 people. This makes Sallis the county's 4th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 134 people, the population of Sallis increased 17.54% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 114 people).

We originally found mention of Sallis in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Sallis was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Sallis post office opened in 1874.

We also found Sallis in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
