At the time of the 2010 Census, Drew had a population of 1,927 people (or 6.54% of the total population of Sunflower County). This makes Drew the county's 4th most populous community.

The population of Drew represents 0.06% of the population of Mississippi (which has 2,967,297 people), making it the state's 111st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,927 people, the population of Drew decreased 20.83% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 2,434 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Drew was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Drew post office opened in 1896.

We also found Drew on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Mississippi (1911).
