At the time of the 2010 Census, Derma had a population of 1,025 people (which is 6.85% of the total population of Calhoun County). This makes Derma the county's 4th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,025 people, the population of Derma has remained roughly the same as the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,023 people).

We originally found mention of Derma in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Derma was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Derma post office opened in 1897.

We also found Derma on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Mississippi (1911).
