While we don't have a date for the founding of Crenshaw, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1902.

At the time of the 2010 Census, Crenshaw had a population of 885 people. This makes Crenshaw the county's 4th most populous community.

The population of Crenshaw represents 0.03% of the population of Mississippi (which has 2,967,297 people), making it the state's 172nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 885 people, the population of Crenshaw decreased 3.38% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 916 people).

We originally found mention of Crenshaw in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Crenshaw was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Crenshaw post office opened in 1902.

We also found Crenshaw on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Mississippi (1911).
