Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Bruce had an population of 1,820 people. This is a decrease of 6.14% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 13.21% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Bruce had a population of 1,939 people (which is 12.96% of the total population of Calhoun County). This makes Bruce the county's most populous community.

The population of Bruce represents 0.07% of the total population of Mississippi (which has 2,967,297 people), making it the state's 109th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,939 people, the population of Bruce decreased 7.53% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 2,097 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Bruce was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Bruce post office opened in 1927.

We also found Bruce on a map titled Shell Oil Road Map for Mississippi (1956).
